First I would like to give a quick shout out to all of those effected by hurricane Irene and hope that you and your families are all safe.
Yesterday we did our first couple of streams on Ustream. Two of the shows were recorded. We ask for your patience as we work through the technical stuff. For a while we were recording and not broadcasting lol So if something like that happens please PLEASE mention it in the chat and we will do our best. Here is a link to our channel: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/thedancingdragon
Planning to do another glass painting stream today - which we will hopefully be broadcasted and recorded. We will announce the show on our facebook page as soon as possible. If I had to give a guess I think about 10 am ET we will be starting.
I have been working on the pinwheels and pixies and am just not getting this project to turn out the way I had planned so until I can work out those bugs I am throwing together another project called Bottle Magic. This was going to be our craft for a later time but I really want to get one up asap for you all. Thanks for your patience as we have been working out the bugs.
In other news by wrist is back to 100%! SO I can now be fully back to crafting and getting things ready for our next event : the GVSU Renaissance Festival October 1 and 2.
That's all for now. Think we will go ahead and start the glass painting part 2 in about
So the pixies took off with the pinwheels and escaped me! I will be pulling it together soon and let you all know when they are up for you. Been feeling under the weather on and off the last few days. Today we have finally joined Twitter and Ustream. New links for our profiles are on the sidebar of our blog and on our home page. Planning to start doing the crafty dragon projects by Ustream videos as well. In addition to doing shows on creating our other artwork. Got a great haul at a garage sale today. Will share photos and probably a quick stream sometime next week. We have also received a request to do a video demo of wood burning. If you have something you would like to request to see just leave a comment to this blog post and we will get it on the schedule. That's all for tonight! Until next time.
Hello everyone! Hope you are enjoy your weekend. Thank you to those of you how stopped by the Celtic Festival - hope you enjoyed yourselves and arrived before the thunderstorm rolled through.
Before the storm everything was splendid and highly enjoyable with food, music, friends and warm sunny skies. When the storm rolled through though it quickly ended the festivities. All but a possible one or two merchants were washed out with rain and flooding and between 5 and 6 tents were destroyed including our own. Thankfully all of our wares were not damaged, nor the tent walls or roof - but our ceiling needs to be repaired. We will later be adding a picture of what our tent looked like before and after the storm. We are all very grateful that no one was injured because of the weather.
I do have a sprained wrist and deep muscle bruise on my left arm that was hurt while getting things into the car. (A wonderful man with the booth next to us was helping us pack up and the hatchback trunk door wasn't closing since a bin was too close - and I reached in to push it up, they didn't see that I had and slammed the door down on my arm - as they were just going to try slamming the door harder to close it) Good egg and bruise but I expect it will heal in a week or two. For now a wrist brace and sling are all I need.
Looking forward to our next event at Grand Valley (October 1 and 2) which will hopefully have better weather and be less "eventful".
Hello Everyone! We were just playing around and found that we can create product listings right on our website here. The disadvantage so far is that we only seem to be able to have one product image and it does not have the detailed product information subjects as Etsy does. But it would allow you to shop directly from our website, without having to create an account with Etsy.com and uses PayPal for quick and easy transactions. We have some sample listings available at the "Dragon Home Store". Check it out and let us know what think. If enough of you would prefer to shop through our website, we can slowly transition to having all of our products right here.
Besides playing around we have been busy busy working on finishing up our new items for the Celtic Festival. The last several days we have spent 6 to 10 hours a day working on our new compositions. We may have to do another round of sneek peek photos just because I can't wait to share them with you all! Well that's all for now. Its 11:06 pm and we should get some rest so we can plug along tomorrow! Night all!
