Too Much of a Good Thing

9/30/2008

What's that? You guessed it. I have been painting so much I actually have a small bruise where the brush handle rests on my hand. That really IS too much of a good thing. But I can't stop now. Much more painting left to do. I've painted about 12 more hours on the hex signs and here are some pictures so you can see how they are coming along.

And now... back to painting!

We paint the whole day through!

Today we started painting the hex signs! And 10 hours later here are pictures of what they look like now.  :-) Seems like a long time to be working but remember there 19 signs have to ready to sell October 11th. So we have to get painting!

This last one is the Tree of Life hex sign I started painting all that while ago. It is about half way done. Lettering will be black, white, green and brown need a second coat and the backgroud of the "trees fruit".  This sign already has a buyer but more will be available for custom order at our shop once it is finished and photographed.

New Items and Rock Charms

9/23/2008

Hello again!

Back for more? Well there is more to give! We have two new items listed at our shop!
First we have a new bracelet called "Magic Nights".

The sale of this bracelet will help out a fellow FAE Team member named Valorie. Check out The Dragon Cares or the Magic Nights bracelet listing at our shop. :)

And secondly we have a new rock necklace listing, "Crystal Berries". You can also find more information about this necklace at our Etsy shop.

We would also like to introduce some of our rock charms. These are charms similar to the ones on our rock necklaces only they haven't been attached to a leather cord or have any bead accents.  As you can see some of them are rather small and I am debating on what to do with them. Should we sell them as a set of charms? Give them as free-bees to those who buy the rock necklaces? Make a bracelet with them? Let us know what you think. :)

Lots of New Things Going On!

Well here we are again keeping everyone in the loop about what is new and fresh here at The Dancing Dragon. First off over the past two days three new wonderful necklaces have been listed! Each is unique and has it's own tale to tell. You can find them listed for sale in the "New" section of our online store: NEW But just for you here is a picture of the last necklace you haven't seen here yet! The Gift of Innocence Necklace.

And of course following the trend of the last few weeks I am still here cranking out hex signs. As of last night only 4 signs remain to have designs drawn on. That means I've already drawn 15 hex signs! Whoo! It has been a lot of work but the real work will begin this weekend when the painting begins. Since there are so many signs I am only going to post 1 new design picture. But don't worry more pictures will be shared once painting begins! Don't forget to visit us in 4 weeks at the Grand Valley Renaissance Festival October 11th and 12th to select your own hand painted hex sign!

New pictures of items coming soon to our shop!

Charged with new batteries I wasted no time taking more pictures. I have a ton of pictures of the hex signs but there are so many I'll only be able to post a few at a time. But before I do I thought I might share a few of items to be added soon to the shop. First is a new drawing of some fairies trying to figure out how to free their friend who finds themselves trapped in a jar. The piece is not titled yet but is very cute!

Next there are a few rock necklaces I have been working on photographing and we now have pictures good enough to post online! Who knew that light gray rain clouds gave the best bright filtered light? There will be two styles of necklaces available those simply wrapped in silver wire and others that have additional wire and beeding accents.  Either will be a very attractive piece to accent any personality!

That's all for now! Don't forget to check out The Dragon Cares to see how you can help out Megumi!

My Camera Batteries Died!

9/12/2008

Hello everyone! Sadly my camera batteries died 3 days ago. But today I got new ones so I can take pictures to share again! I have 5 more hex signs ready to photograph. My table clothes arrived too! And the tent walls should be arriving sometime mid next week! Very exciting!

On a side note, the wood burning sale has concluded at our Etsy shop, the last day was Tuesday the 9th.

There are many things we have on our to do list that are quickly becoming overwhelming. Currently in addition to getting ready for the faire in October I am also painting a set of wall murals for a museum! It is very exciting! And very thrilling to be doing such important work! Sadly though it is demanding a lot of my attention at the moment and some of my shop and preparations are being shifted to the "side burner" or to the "back burner" because of deadlines. The hex signs are getting the most attention thus far because this coming event will be the first time I have signs ready to buy and not just to order! I am hoping to have all 19 completed but we are getting tight on time.

Notice: Keep an eye on The Dragon Cares section of our shop as some new information will be posted there soon!

That's all for now! Keep checking back to see new pictures coming soon!

Exciting steps to a fabulous booth!

9/5/2008

Hello! Some of you may know that for a while now we have been progressively working toward getting a huge booth appearance upgrade. The biggest step of all the steps we have taken was buying our own tent! It is a lovely 10 foot by 10 foot white canopy with a peaked top. The material of the roof is water proof and flame resistant.

Yesterday we ordered new table cloths from Linens n' Things in a sage green color. They are gorgeous! Oh and in case you did not know already, Linens n' Things is going out of business in our area so if you haven't taken a look at their clearance and need things like this for your own booth take a look.

Today Tricia will be by to pick up the fabric and designs/patterns for the tent ceiling and pole covers. This will make the inside of the tent more acceptable at a larger variety of faires because virtually none of the metal frame will be visible. To help mask the poles even more and to make it more attractive too there will be Dogwood Blossom garland hung from the corners of the tent on the inside.  Two more white blossom garlands will be hung on either side of the entrance panel too. We will also be getting together before the faire in October to make a cool renaissance border for the tent!

In the very near future I will also be ordering a wall panel kit for the tent. Though I have to wait for it to be double checked by another person before I order this time. (Last time I accidentally ordered the wrong size!)

I'm just so excited about our booth getting this much needed make over! I'll share tons of pictures when it is all done. In the mean time to give you all a better idea of the over all look check out these pictures and sketches. The tent is not quite what I have but close enough and the table cloths are the very ones I ordered from Linens n' Things!

Hello again! I'm back with two more newly drawn hex sign designs! The first is called "Unicorns" and the second is "Irish Hex". This is a special posting because the Irish Hex was the first hex sign I ever painted. At the bottom of this post you will find a picture of my first hex sign. Enjoy! I hope to have more soon!
