Dragon Playmates
As we get our start in the big internet world we want to remember those groups and individuals who have helped us along the way. This a page where you can get to know the Dragon's "playmates" a little better.
Tricia - Supplies and Process Advisor
Tricia is the Supplies and Process Advisor for The Dancing Dragon. Tricia has a Classical Traditions Major and Anthropology Minor from her college. Classical Traditions encompass Greek History and Language. Her particular interest is in the Classic Arts (Greek and Roman Art) and Art History. She has been actively involved with Renaissance faires for six years. She makes and creates her own garb, including her own court dress. In fact she made my personal merchant garb two years ago and she is being commissioned to make the final elements of our merchant tent which you will be able to see this coming October '08. Tricia is regularly at my side or on the phone with me while I am scouting out or purchasing supplies for our artwork. Whenever I have a question about the materials I want to use, if it will it be able to do what I want it to do, or if something would be considered historically accurate or not for the Renaissance period she is the one I call. Tricia also aids with the consumer side of our work. She gives sound advice on what will appeal to customers and what is a reasonable price range for the work. I consider her aid essential to the success of The Dancing Dragon.
Paula A. Smith ~ DragonFly Creations
Paula is a fellow merchant I first met at the Silverleaf Renaissance Festival in 2005. Since then we have grown to have wonderful friendship. Paula has been very supportive of my fantasy career and was my main consult when I was piecing my vendors booth together. Here is a little bit about Paula:She was born on a leap year in the cusp between the signs of Aquarius and Pieces. Her Mother had a gift. She was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and raised in the back woods. Spent most of her time in the woods and swamps and learned a lot there. Some say she has a gift for communicating with animals. The Upper Peninsula has a magical quality about it. Tall forests, fresh water beaches, waterfalls, wild animals and clear skies. She always liked to draw and like most started out drawing, then chalks, then painting. But it wasn't until she started sculpting that she felt she had finally found her medium. You see, everyone has an artist in them…some just haven't found their medium to express it yet. Some paint, some sew, some knit or crochet, make quilts, or work puzzles faster then others. You know you've found your medium when you feel a joy while you are working with it or upon completion. Paula has been working with the clay for over 15 years now, and doesn't plan to stop. Paula is of Irish descent, so it is only natural for her to be attracted to Dragons and Unicorns. It is a law of Physics that states that, “Energy can not be destroyed, it can only be transformed into another form of energy.” So when she makes one of her little fantasy creatures, a part of her, that energy used to make it, is actually going into it.
