Hello Everyone!
Officially as of today Thursday, April 5th our Etsy shop is on vacation until further notice. We are expecting the arrival of baby sometime in the next 3 weeks. At the moment it is becoming harder and harder to keep up with the household and routine errands. So to be fair to you our customers we are putting our shop on vacation and not currently accepting custom orders. We will of course respond to messages as soon as we are able. In the meantime we are doing to try to keep occasionally posting projects to the Crafty Dragon - but do ask your patience in how quickly they are posted. We appreciate your understanding and support as we get close to baby

Hi Everyone! Hope you have been well and hopefully enjoying this little heat wave we have had. Been very hot for the preggers dragon I can tell you that LOL Broke down and turned on the AC and so glad I did. Seems everything has been happening so fast and been trying to just stay on top of it all here at the house.
A later announcement from GVRen let me know that Duke's Ball will actually be taking place on the 30th of this month. All of the other information is accurate. We are officially 8 months along, and given that sometime in the near future our shop will be going on an extended vacation until we feel we are up to running the store again after baby arrives. We just have not have the extra snuff to get new items listed. But they will be eventually. Our little crafty dragon page will be getting some attention very soon. Right after I update here I am heading to that page to post the embellishing photos of the adult version and going to get to work on the kid version. The kiddies one will also double with instructions on how to make it into a mini Easter basket. Bought some supplies to make a simple adult egg embellishing craft as well. Thank you all for your patience and well Wishing you all a very nice cuddle day with your love ones! We just posted the instructions for the adult craft version of our Love Your Notes Mailbox in the Crafty Dragon. Soon we will be adding further embellishment breakdowns of how we decorated our box as well as instructions for the kids version. Thank you all for your patience as we have been working to post this project for you. Have a wonderful day!
Morning Everyone! Here is your first look at our Love Your Notes Mailbox for this Valentines Crafty Dragon. Really happy with how it turned out and hope you are too. While we were picking out the cake for the baby shower we could not resist getting some of the cup cakes that they had, and when I looked at the box they came home it I thought hey this could be really cute! So I made a template from that box (original design by BOXit Corp) and turned it into a Valentines box!
Right now I am still working on editing the photos so you can see how we made our version and a supplies list. I am also wanting to make a smaller simpler template to print so that the kids can have fun making their own box too. (The adult version seen above will not be able to have a printable template since the dimensions are too big.) Otherwise we have been busy trying to get the remainder of our shop listings updated with the new shipping information. Once again this year you are invited to attend Duke's Ball hosted by the Grand Valley Renaissance Faire. It will be held on Friday, March 18th from 7:30 to 9:30 pm on the second floor of the Kirkholf Center in room 2263, located at GVSU's Allendale, Michigan Campus. This is a fun filled event with refreshments, merchants and a chance to participate in the traditional Renaissance era dances, or watch them as they are preformed by the GVRen members. For driving directions use: 1 Campus Drive, Allendale Center Township, Michigan 49401. Free parking is available in lot H. That is all for now. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Until next time, may you find magic wherever you go. Hi Everyone! Goodness it has been a while! First I'd like to start by wishing everyone a very Happy New Year! and hope that all of your celebrations were joyful and safe. Things sure have been busy around here with the little one getting closer and closer to being here in person. About 3 months left to go! My time has been taken up with lots of doctors appointments, planning the baby shower, family holiday gathers and of course all of the regular household things we all try to keep up with. We have a couple of announcements though. 1. After August 2012 we will no longer have our post office box address. We have found that it is rarely being used and while it has been nice to have a physical address to provide, most of you prefer to reach us online. That being said we will not be renewing our box after August this summer 2012. 2. It has been officially decided that we will not be able to vend at this years annual Duke's Ball. However you can still count on us to give you all of the details about this wonderful fun filled evening as soon as they are available. Between our growing baby bump and our diminishing stamina we simply will not be able to participate as a merchant. But there is a good chance we may make an appearance :) 3. We will be extending our sale up through March 25th! After planning and doing some small advertising of our sale we realized how little we have actually been able to list at our store. So we are extending the time to give you more time to shop and us more time to make new listings. 4. Our FAE Team has a new exhibition: On Winter's Glistening Wings! It is a fabulous gathering of winters magic made possible by our fellow team members. Please stop by and view the exhibition here: http://www.faeteam.com/exhibition.html You can also follow our FAE Team on Twitter: @FAEteam
Until next time! May you find magic wherever you go! Hi Everyone! Hope you are having a good week. This week we have been busy painting our hex sign custom order and gingerbread house, organizing the art room some more and shipping out some orders. Here is a look at where things are now. Been debating on doing a stream while I paint but working on the white could be anywhere from 3 to 4 hours straight with one color so thought I would spare you all. :) But it is coming along nicely. This is the first all patio paint hex sign I have done and am really liking how it is turning out. Kinda neat how you can see all my little brushstrokes if you look at the right angle. Here are also a couple pictures of the gingerbread house. Used this to entertain myself while some of the hex sign paint was drying. It was a plain while resin when I started. It is also all done in patio paint and used lots of colors. They really do have some wonderful holiday resin crafts this year at Michael's and Hobby Lobby. Been staying away so I don't bring more home! Estimating I spent about 4 hours painting this one. Compared to the at least 12 or 14 I know I have already put into the hex sign. :) While we are at it with pictures, here is one of my favorite water bottle and paint brush. They look much loved no? Well that's all for now. Be marry and stay safe! Until next time!
Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. Yesterday we had our last event of the season the 1st Annual Yule Faire at GVSU. It was a lot of fun with live music, dancing, caroling, free deserts and shopping. Since this was our last even of the year and we know that the holidays are quickly approaching you can look forward to new items being listed at our Etsy shop and perhaps a holiday sale *wink* New items and sales will be announced at our Dragon Shouts, Twitter and Facebook pages. Members of our mailing list will also receive a few additional offers as well. If you have not joined already visit our Dragon Shouts page and sign up!
At this moment our new event schedule is uncertain as we are about 1/2 way through our pregnancy. Our next regular event would normally be Duke's Ball in March 2012 - however at that time we will be 8 months along and will need to see as we get closer if it is feasible for us to vend at. If we are able to we will certainly let all of you know. Other future events will depend on several factors we simply will not know until after our baby's arrival. Be assured we will keep you posted. Look for our new items at our Etsy shop til then. Currently we are working on a custom Tree of Life 24 inch sign, custom griffin vase, photographing new items for the store and planning our sales, their announcements and release dates. Lots to get done before Thanksgiving! Hope everyone has a wonderful week and joyous reunions with family and friends! P.S. We are also aware that our poor Crafty Dragon page have been very neglected! We will be working on that as well. Hello Everyone! You may have noticed a few more changes on our website navigation. We wanted to bring your favorite pages up to the top of the list (wink).
It has been a very busy week here at home. We have been hard at work on our custom wood burned piece which is coming along nicely. Today we will also be working on painting some glass pieces for the show this coming Saturday. We have added some additional details to the event planner about this event. Our booth will be located in Family Life Center of the church - which you can get to by walking through the Sanctuary Lobby and Narthex when you enter the church from the parking lot. Again the craft show will be from 9 am to 2 pm. Hope to see you there! In other news one of our cats Zelda has been having a tough time healing up from her declaw surgery. Even on a sedative she still would love to just run around the house. Her infection on her front left paw has shown a lot of improvement this week and we hope that the vet on Wednesday will tell us she can at least walk around the small bedroom of the house without being in the crate the whole day. Thank you to everyone who has been thinking of her. That's all we have time for right now. We had better get painting! See you this weekend! Greetings all! And Happy October! Fall is certainly here and blowing through! We've been having lots of hot apple cider and staying cozy inside.
In just two weeks is the Harvest Arts and Crafts show in Zeeland on Saturday the 29th. Full event details are in the Dragon Event Planner. We are designing more glass pieces to be painted for the show and are looking forward to seeing everyone there. We also just mailed out our application for a new event this November with the GVSU Renaissance Faire. They are hosting a Yule Festival on the 19th inside the Kirkoff building on the Allendale campus. Lots to do before the end of the month! We had better get started! Until next time. Hello everyone! If you were able to stop by the GVSU Renaissance Faire - Thanks! and we hope you had a great time! We came by ourselves on Sunday and it was nice to get out and about and see everyone and all the exciting events there.
So where are things here? First we have done some checking and we will only be able to use the patio paint, not the rustoleum paint for our hex signs. We were also let know that using the stain and varnish or lacquer for our wood burned pieces will also have to be done by someone else as well. Currently I have been making arrangements to get some help with this from the hubby and family members when wood pieces are ready to be finished. Second in three weeks from today we Will be at the Harvest Arts and Crafts show in Zeeland. It is an indoor event hosted by the First Reformed Church. For directions and additional information please see the Dragon Event Planner. Third now that the morning sickness is passing we are hoping to start to get back into the swing of things by working on a custom order and painting some more glass pieces for the art show coming up I have appreciated everyone's patience and support and our lives have been changing. Looking forward to exciting things to come. Hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend! |
